Geoff Thomas.

Geoff Thomas has fished all his life, and after training as a journalist on the Auckland Star newspaper made a living from fishing as the first professional fly fishing guide based in Rotorua. He moved into the travel business and fished extensively in Canada, the US and Australia, and also held positions of President of the Rotorua Anglers’ Association, and an inaugural member and president, NZ Professional Fishing Guides’ Association. He attended the inaugural IGFA World Angling Conference in France in 1984 where he showed a film, and also represented NZ at the inaugural conference in Canberra of the Australian Recreational Fishing Confederation.
